Spring Garden and Greenhouse Update!
The garden is planted, and the greenhouse is almost done!
I moved my seedlings out of my office and into the almost-finished greenhouse last week while we were away at the beach for the week. The seedlings thrived, and now that we are back home, I planted them outside in the raised garden. I've got tomatoes (more than we can eat; one is even a volunteer that came up on its own), zucchini, Persian cucumbers, green beans, cilantro, basil, and marigolds to ward off the bugs. I'm thinking of starting some more seeds in the greenhouse to see how they do though I'm not sure there will be room in the garden for anything else.
The greenhouse is really coming along. Danny incorporated all my favorite old windows, including the diamond-shaped and stained glass windows I collected. I'm thrilled with how it is turning out. Every time I look at it, it amazes me that the old doors and windows I purchased from yard sales, flea markets, and swap-and-sell sites over the years, with the dream of making them into a greenhouse, are becoming a reality! The overall look is quite eclectic, as is the color scheme.
